Club History 1 of 3

1. Foundations (1926 - 2003)

Chalfont St Peter AFC has a rich history dating back to its formation in 1926 when it started playing local junior football matches on Gold Hill Common. In 1948, the club made a significant move to the Great Western Combination, and a year later, they settled into their current location, known as Mill Meadow, despite its humble origins as a refuse tip.

The club's journey was marked by both challenges and triumphs. In 1952, they clinched their first silverware, the Berks & Bucks FA Intermediate Cup, signaling the beginning of on-field success. Progression through various leagues, including the Parthenon League, London League, and Spartan League, followed suit.

Although the early 1970s posed difficulties, a shift to the Athenian League brought about a change in fortunes. Transitioning into the Isthmian League during the 1980s, the club achieved some consistency in league performances and made notable strides in the FA Cup and FA Vase.

The 1990s presented another challenging decade, marked by consecutive bottom-place finishes. However, the tide began to turn in 2001/02 under the leadership of Martin Dean. Despite a mid-table finish, the club showed promise, laying the groundwork for future success.
