2. Edwards (2004 - 2019)

A pivotal moment came in 2004 when a young Danny Edwards led Chalfont to victory in the Berks & Bucks Under-18 Challenge Cup. This achievement earned him the position of First Team manager, sparking a period of both triumphs and near-misses.

Following a restructuring within the Isthmian League at the conclusion of the 2005/06 season, Chalfont St Peter AFC transitioned to the Spartan South Midlands Premier League.

The 2006/07 campaign marked their debut in the Spartan league, yielding a respectable top-half finish and the acquisition of the Wycombe Senior Cup. Notably, they clinched the cup with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Downley Albion at the Wycombe Wanderers ground.

The subsequent season, 2007/08, proved to be a standout period for the club. Under the stewardship of Danny Edwards, the team flourished, displaying an exciting brand of football. Noteworthy cup runs in both the FA Cup and FA Vase complemented their Final appearance in the Premier Division Cup. However, the pinnacle of their achievements came with a triumph in the Challenge Trophy, securing a 2-0 victory over Brimsdown Rovers. Despite a closely contested league race, Chalfont St Peter AFC settled for the runners-up spot.

Building on their successes, the 2008/09 season saw the club aiming to maintain high standards. Impressive performances in the FA Cup were coupled with a memorable run in the FA Vase, culminating in a heart-wrenching defeat in the semi-final. Despite their cup exploits, fixture congestion took its toll, and they narrowly missed out on the league title, finishing third.

Expectations soared as they entered the 2009/10 season, following near-promotion in previous campaigns. While a slow start and a challenging run of losses initially hampered their title chase, an outstanding sequence of results propelled them to the top of the table. Ultimately, they fell short in the final weeks, settling for the runners-up position once more.

The 2010/11 season heralded a renewed determination to secure promotion. A remarkable streak of seventeen consecutive wins propelled them to the summit, where they remained unchallenged for the entirety of the campaign. With an unwavering focus on league success, cup competitions took a backseat. Their dominance culminated in a historic league and cup double, capped off by lifting the Challenge Trophy, marking the conclusion of their five-year tenure in the Spartan League.

However, challenges emerged in subsequent seasons, including a transition period in the 2011/12 season and struggles with consistency in subsequent campaigns.

In 2018/19, the club returned to the Isthmian League after twelve seasons, facing challenges of inconsistency and a goal shortage. Following the conclusion of the season, Danny Edwards expressed his desire to step down from his role, initiating the search for a new manager to lead the club into the future.
